Competition time: Smoke ’em if you got ’em

Smoking is good for you. Smoking is great. That is, if you are smoking in the sense of preserving and adding flavour to food, opening up a myriad of other uses for it.

But don’t take our word for it. Foodies South West has teamed up with Devon Smokehouse to allow you to make the decision for yourself.

The smokehouse specialises in making Devonshire smoked sea salt and smoked spices and garlic.

Each of the smoked products has been cold smoked over either apple wood or maple wood to infuse them with “a subtle smokiness and delicious flavour”.

The nice people at Devon Smokehouse (who are on Twitter at @devonsmokehouse ) are offering a Devonshire smoked sea salt and a grinder of Himalayan Pink Salt, billed as a (more) healthy salt (not that the other is unhealthy in moderation) that can be used in both cooking and even in the bath, for your enjoyment. Best not to drink the  bath water though. All you have to do is send an email to us at foodiessouthwest@gmail.com by noon on Friday May 21, entitled “Smoked Salt Competition”, and including your name, address and the answer to the insultingly easy question below:
