New Bristol Cider Shop opens

Bristol Cider Shop, believed to be the city’s first specialist cider shop, opens tomorrow (December 1, 2010).

The shop is based at 7 Christmas Steps, near Colston Hall, and will stock more than 50 varieties of draught and bottled cider and perry, as well as a wide range of other cider-related products.

Scrumpy O'Clock.

All of the ciders and perries on offer are made from 100 per cent apple or  pear juice and many are award-winning. They are all made in the UK and are sourced direct from farms in Somerset, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Wales.

Shop co-owner Peter Snowman said: “Draught cider and perry is available to take away – in anything from a pint to a barrel. There will be a rolling selection of ciders to choose from, in a variety of tastes and styles, and we challenge anyone not to find one they like!

“There is a very wide selection of bottled cider, perry and apple juice, as well as delicious mulled cider.”

The shop also stocks cider-related products and gifts (great for Christmas!), including cider brandy, chutneys, vinegars, hampers, books and t-shirts.

The shop will be open Monday – Saturday 11am – 7pm, with late night opening on Thursday nights in December until 8pm.
