Sharpham 2011 Dart Valley Reserve leads the pack at South West Vineyard Association 2013 Awards

Sharpham Vineyard’s 2011 Dart Valley Reserve was named South West Wine of the Year at The South West Vineyard Association 2013 Awards.

Sharpham from Devon, Camel Valley from Cornwall and Furleigh Estate from Dorset all scooped gold at the awards for the region’s booming wine industry.


Camel Valley won two golds for two 2010 sparkling vintages, Annie’s Anniversary and White Pinot.
Furleigh took gold for its 2010 sparkling rose and Sharpham for the 2011 Dart Valley Reserve white wine.

They led a group of 44 wines from across the South West to scoop gold, silver and bronze awards, with another seven highly commended by the judges, the chairman of the panel Patricia Stefanowicz MW, Alastair Peebles MW, Anthony Manifold, Fiona Taylor and Kit Clancy (associate judge).

The Association Cup, for best non-dry white wine – Astley Late Harvest 2011
Gillian Pearkes Memorial Trophy for best contribution to the Vinepost – Allison Routh, as new editor.

Eric Coates Trophy, for best small-scale winemaker – Tony Griffin
Kilcott Valley Shield, for best sparkling wine – Northend Serius Brut 2010
John Buchan Agronomy Shield, for best red wine – Northend Ridge Red 2011
